DAILY EDGE // AI Customer Simulator? // Issue 206

Now you can build a customer simulator that tells you if your ads suck BEFORE running live ads

Do you want to save a TON of money?

Want higher CTRs?

Increased conversions?

I'll show you how.

All it takes is a ChatGPT account (the $20 plan).

ChatGPT has a feature called "Projects."

It basically allows you to build your own simple chatbots. You give it instructions and files, and then it knows how to behave.

Snore???

Noooooo!

What happens when you give one of these projects instructions to act like one of your customers and give you feedback on your ads?

I'll tell you what happens...

You've just built an AI customer simulator.

One of the most useful things I've built in all 20yrs of running ads.

You can give your new customer simulator your META Ad copy and it'll tell you what parts were a turn off, which parts were unbelievable, and which parts made it want to buy.

Imagine this scenario...

You write a new ad for FB, but before you deploy it, you copy/paste it into your new customer simulator.

It tells you why it hates 1 part of your ad copy.

So you change that one part and deploy.

Now, your ad copy is optimized, before you've even spent a penny. It gets you a higher CTR than anything else you've ever run.

Last night I tried it with a VSL idea I had...

Thank God I did because, it gave me feedback that I think will save my VSL from being a total failure. The new version is way better than what I had come up with.

Is this just guessing games?

How can this be real?

First, you have to understand how LLM's (that's why science geeks call the underlying models behind ChatGPT/Grok etc) are designed.

These things are basically super highly trained guessing machines.

They aren't actually thinking or sentient (obviously).

However, they've read virtually all human knowledge, and have the ability to guess what happens next at uncanny accuracy levels.

They have the ability to see patterns and probabilities far greater than any human can.

Essentially, they're right 99.9% of the time.

Meaning, they're better than humans at guessing the outcome of what's going to happen next - for example, if your ad is going to work or not.

How to build your customer simulator?

First you have to create a new project.

It'll be on the left hand side of your account, just below "Explore GPTs."

Then you'll name your project.

I named mine "Customer Simulator" you should probably do the same.

Then you have to give it a prompt as instructions.

This prompt teaches your project how to act.

Here's the prompt I used...

Pretend you are a struggling [INSERT CUSTOMER PERSONA] in the [INSERT NICHE MARKET] space.

You are now part of a panel of prospects reviewing ads as a focus group. Your job is to give your opinion about how the ads make you feel and what they could do better.

You have two main problems as a [INSERT CUSTOMER PERSONA] (but not limited to these two only):
1. [INSERT CORE PROBLEM #1]
2. [INSERT CORE PROBLEM #2]

When I give you ads to look at, give me your raw personal feelings about that ad:
- Does it relate to you?
- Does it address your needs?
- What about it appeals to you?
- What about it turns you off?
- What do you wish the ad said that would make you buy now?
- How could this ad get your attention better?

Do not use generic information about copywriting or advertising. Stick to your persona and critique the ads based on your own desires, challenges, fears, frustrations, and goals.

Next, you'll need to give it a file.

This file should be your customer persona and empathy map as a PDF.

The better you make this file, the better your "Customer Simulator" is going to work.

I like to use Perplexity "Research" mode for this (or even better Manus).

But ChatGPT "Deep Research" will work fine.

You just need to be very specific about what type of customer persona and empathy map you want to make.

DO NOT give it multiple customer types.

When it's finished writing your persona and empathy map, paste it into a Google Doc, and download as PDF.

Now, just upload that PDF to your customer simulator as a file.

That's it!

You're done!

You now have a customer simulator that can review your ad copy, blog titles, VSL ideas, anything you create it'll give you feedback on.

But I didn't even there...

If you were on this week's live training call you got to watch me create and use this customer simulator. If you had been on that call you would know that I went two steps beyond.

I then created a "Copywriter" project that takes the customer simulator feedback and writes 3 new versions.

Plus, another project called "Prediction Engine" which then critiques those new versions to create a "Success Probability Score" telling you exactly which of the 3 versions will statistically outperform the others.

Cool right!

I've given you the prompt for the customer simulator for free, but if you want the rest you'll need to go watch the replay of the live call.

If you're customer login here.

If you're not yet a customer purchase access here.

If this 3 part system helps you make just one successful ad campaign, it'll more than pay back the cost to join today. But once you setup all 3 parts, you'll be able to use this on dozens of ad campaigns in the future.

The ROI of this one system, could be your best investment of the year.

See you Monday Adsmith!

October of 2019, I thought God was a fairy tale in the sky and then I saw overwhelming scientific and historical evidence that He was real. Alone in a hotel room, with no pastor, priest, or Bible I looked up and said "Ok God you win!" That night I gave my life to Christ and everything changed.

Agencies are cooked. I've issued a stern warning to all of our certified ad buyers, GET OUT of the ad agency business. It's not just ad agencies... We all knew AI was one day going to do this. I'm not saying anything new or wild here, this isn't some huge conspiracy theory. Sure, AI isn't better than the best coders, writers, designers (yet). However, AI is demonstrably better than entry level writers, coders, and designers. I used to hire freelancers to write blog posts for me, now...

I've been on social media for 15yrs & made over $250k from it, here's what I learned... Do you want to crack the algorithms? Tons of free clicks and leads? Every social media platform has 1 ranking signal that is bigger than all the others. I'm going to show you what that 1 ranking signal is for Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, and LinkedIn... But first the question of the day... If you could buy only 1 tool, which would you buy... ChatGPT Canva SEMRush ClickFunnels Cracking Social...

I said I'm reaching over 1 million people, then he checked my profile... Recently I told someone about my side project. How we are reaching (over) 1 million people per month on Instagram and have over 500,000 views on Youtube. He didn't believe me so he checked my profiles (@swordandsolas). He saw way way way less subscribers and thought he caught me lying... But first the question of the day... Which would you rather have... Unlimited scale but it only breaks even 500% ROAS but it won't...
